Exceptional Berry Size and Quality

Aurora produces remarkably large, firm berries that significantly exceed standard honeyberry sizes, offering exceptional eating quality and visual appeal. These substantial berries provide superior value per plant and enhanced satisfaction for fresh eating, whilst their excellent firmness ensures outstanding storage characteristics and reduced waste during harvest processing.

Perfect Flavour Balance

Celebrated for its exceptional sweet-tart balance, Aurora delivers complex berry flavours with subtle hints of grape and cherry, creating the most refined honeyberry eating experience available. This superior flavour development makes it the preferred choice for fresh consumption, gourmet cooking, and premium preserving applications where taste quality is paramount.

Outstanding Productivity

Exceptional yields of premium-quality berries ensure abundant harvests that justify garden space investment, producing significantly more fruit per plant than many traditional honeyberry varieties. This remarkable productivity makes Aurora perfect for families wanting substantial fresh fruit supplies and gardeners seeking maximum return from limited growing space.

Superior Storage Characteristics

Firm, well-structured berries maintain quality for extended periods after harvest, offering excellent fresh storage capabilities and superior freezing characteristics. This outstanding storage quality makes Aurora ideal for batch processing, extended fresh eating periods, and year-round superfruit availability through proper preservation methods.

Enhanced Cold Tolerance

Exceptionally hardy with proven performance in challenging Canadian climates, ensuring reliable fruit production in British conditions including exposed positions and challenging microclimates. This remarkable cold tolerance guarantees consistent annual cropping regardless of weather variations, making it perfect for northern gardens and unpredictable climate zones.

Professional Growing Favourite

Preferred by commercial growers and fruit specialists for its consistent performance, exceptional quality, and reliable productivity, demonstrating superior garden value for home cultivation. This professional endorsement ensures gardeners receive proven genetics with established performance records and predictable growing characteristics.

Excellent Pollination Partner

Aurora serves as an outstanding pollination partner for other honeyberry varieties whilst benefiting from cross-pollination to achieve maximum fruit size and yield potential. This valuable pollination characteristic makes it essential for multi-variety plantings and ensures enhanced fruit production across entire honeyberry collections.

Attractive Garden Presence

Beautiful upright growth habit with excellent foliage quality and abundant spring flowering creates year-round garden interest beyond fruit production benefits. The attractive ornamental characteristics make Aurora perfect for edible landscaping where visual appeal and fruit production must be successfully combined.

Ideal Growing Position

Plant in full sun to partial shade in well-drained, fertile soil with consistent moisture availability during fruit development periods. Benefits from slightly acidic conditions and organic matter enrichment, whilst tolerating various soil types when properly prepared with compost and appropriate drainage improvements.

Container Excellence

Perfect for large container cultivation allowing precise growing condition control and easy harvest access in limited space situations. The manageable size and exceptional productivity make Aurora ideal for patio growing, balcony cultivation, and intensive small-space fruit production systems.

Extended Harvest Window

Berries ripen gradually over several weeks allowing extended fresh picking periods and reducing harvest pressure compared to varieties with concentrated ripening schedules. This extended harvest characteristic ensures maximum fruit utilisation and reduces waste from simultaneous ripening of entire crops.

Exceptional eating quality makes Aurora perfect for diverse culinary applications from fresh consumption to gourmet cooking and premium preserving projects. The superior flavour and firm texture characteristics ensure successful results across all preparation methods whilst maintaining distinctive honeyberry character.

Buying Fruit Trees/Bushes from Jacksons Nurseries

Our trees might be Freshly Potted and the root system may not be fully established, and loose soil may occur when unpacking.

Unlike many garden centres, supermarkets and some nurseries here at Jacksons Nurseries we sell the majority of our stock all year round. Our stock is for the most part grown outdoors making it far hardier than those grown under glass and/or only sold ‘In Season’.

Here at Jacksons Nurseries we would favour a hardy outdoor grown plant every time. They are far less likely to suffer from the shock of being planted in colder conditions and they will begin to establish more rapidly the following spring. This can mean that they don’t look like a ‘picture perfect’ plant when purchased out of season but with the correct care and a little time you’ll have a wonderful plant to enjoy for many years to come.
