*** Our Roses have now been pruned back and re-fed to encourage new growth. Pruning back removes leaves and flowers but will encourage the rose to grow bushier. Dependent on weather conditions, the rose may re-flower on new stems this year although not guaranteed. It does mean, however that the rose will develop as a well formed plant as it grows in your garden.***
Stunning, golden-yellow, fully double, cupped blooms with apricot centres are carried on long, arching, nearly thorn-less stems from May to June. This is a healthy, repeat-flowering modern shrub rose with a nicely rounded, slightly arching habit thats well-foliated with masses of attractive, large, mid-green leaves.
One of the largest-flowered and most magnificent of the English Roses, it is ideal for marking any celebration or important event. The flowers are initially tea-scented but often develop a wonderful combination of sauterne wine and strawberry as they mature. Also suitable for growing as a small climber.
Buying Roses from Jacksons Nurseries
At Jacksons Nurseries our roses are field grown and potted up in autumn/early spring. We sell this newly potted stock as ‘Freshly Potted’ up until they have had chance to root out usually by late spring. It is perfectly OK to plant freshly potted roses providing you water them well and remember that there will be little top growth until spring. If you do plant them straight away make sure the planting mix is prepared first, hold the root close to the top of the hole as you tip the pot upside down and try to keep as much compost as possible from falling away.
Any stock remaining following the summer flowering season is trimmed back to help keep them tidy.
