(3) Best Prices, Guaranteed – we’ve already price checked all of our trees against competitors so you don’t have to. If you find a tree of the same type and AAA grade elsewhere, we’ll beat it by 10%.

(4) Choose a Delivery Window to Suit you – we provide a 2 day delivery window for your convenience. Most other online suppliers can only indicate the week of your delivery. We won’t have you waiting at home day after day.

(5) Christmas Tree Care – we include free Christmas tree care instructions with all trees we supply. There is also a raft of useful Christmas tree advice information available on the Christmas tree FAQs section of our website.

(6) Environmentally Friendly – we plant Christmas trees as ‘draw trees’ with native trees in between the Christmas trees as we plant. As the Christmas trees are harvested, we leave the native species on some parts of the Christmas tree growing area to develop into native English woodland.

Important Notice about Our Pot Grown Christmas Trees
Our pot grown trees are raised in special growing pots that are sunk into the ground in the growing field, rather than standing on the surface like conventional container-grown plants. The pots are perforated with tiny holes that keep the tree's main root system contained inside the pot, while allowing finer roots and root hairs to grow through and draw water and nutrients from the surrounding soil. This means the tree develops a dense, healthy root ball inside its pot, and when it is lifted the fine roots outside the pot part cleanly with no damage to the main root system. The result is a stronger, better-established tree than can be achieved in a standard pot, which is why our trees settle so well in the home and can be planted out or grown on in a container after Christmas. The pots are black. We endeavour to clean the pots after lifting from our fields, though they are best unpacked outdoors before you bring the tree into your home. Our potted trees are supplied with the pots wrapped in plastic for safe transit. Many customers choose to put the growing pot inside a decorative outer pot when displaying the tree in their home (decorative pot not supplied as part of potted tree purchase). In case of any doubts or questions, please contact us. This is the standard way potted trees are grown in the industry.
The Norway Spruce is one of Britain's most beloved traditional Christmas trees, offering the classic festive appearance that has graced homes for generations. Our pot grown specimens are cultivated with care to ensure a fresh, fragrant centrepiece for your holiday celebrations.
The Norway Spruce (Picea abies) is a majestic evergreen conifer native to Northern and Central Europe. Despite its name, this species naturally grows across Scandinavia, the Alps, and parts of the British Isles. Known for its distinctive pyramid shape and rich green colouring, it has been the traditional choice for Christmas trees across Europe for centuries.
Appearance
Shape: Classic Christmas tree silhouette with a naturally symmetrical, conical form
Needles: Short, bright green needles (~2cm long) that attach individually to branches
Branches: Strong, horizontal branches that can support heavier decorations
Colour: Vibrant green throughout, maintaining its colour well when fresh
Height Range: Available as pot grown specimens in various sizes from 100-120cm (3-4ft) to 150-175cm (5-6ft), subject to availability
Fragrance
The Norway Spruce offers a subtle, fresh pine scent that isn't overpowering, making it ideal for those who prefer a gentler fragrance in their home.
What Does Potted Mean?
Unlike cut trees that are harvested and severed from their roots, potted Christmas trees are cultivated entirely in containers. This means they retain their complete root system and can potentially be replanted after the festive season.
Benefits of Potted Trees
Longer Lasting: Maintains freshness throughout the Christmas period and beyond
Sustainable Choice: Can be planted in your garden after Christmas (with proper care)
Better Water Uptake: Living roots continue to absorb water, keeping needles fresh
Reduced Needle Drop: Significantly less needle shedding compared to cut trees
Year-Round Enjoyment: Can be kept as a garden feature if successfully transplanted
Indoor Display
Watering: Check soil moisture daily and water when the top inch feels dry
Location: Place away from direct heat sources (radiators, fireplaces, heating vents)
Temperature: Keep in the coolest part of your home whilst still being part of your display
Duration: Limit indoor time to 7-10 days to give your tree the best chance of succeeding when you plant it out in the garden after Christmas
Lighting: Avoid placing heavy, heat-generating lights on branches
After Christmas Options
Replanting: Gradually acclimatise the tree to outdoor temperatures over several days
Garden Placement: Choose a sunny to partially shaded spot with well-draining soil
Container Growing: Can remain in a larger pot for patios or small gardens
Professional Care: Consider professional planting services for best survival rates
Weight Considerations
Norway Spruces have sturdy branches that can accommodate:
Traditional baubles of all sizes
String lights (LED recommended for less heat)
Garlands and tinsel
Heavier ornaments on lower, stronger branches
Styling Suggestions
The classic shape of the Norway Spruce complements both traditional and contemporary decoration themes. Its rich green colour provides an excellent backdrop for silver, gold, red, or multicoloured ornaments.
Dimensions and Sizing
Our Norway Spruce pot grown trees are available in the following approximate sizes (subject to availability):
100-120cm (3-4ft): Perfect for smaller rooms, tabletops, or apartments
120-150cm (4-5ft): Ideal for medium to large bedrooms and living rooms
150-175cm (5-6ft): Suitable for using instead of a cut tree in living rooms with standard height ceilings
Please note: Heights are measured from soil level to the top of the tree.
Choosing a pot grown Norway Spruce supports sustainable forestry practices:
Reduces waste associated with cut trees
Provides ongoing carbon sequestration if replanted
Creates potential habitat for wildlife when established in gardens
Q: How long will my potted tree last indoors? A: With proper care, 7-10 days indoors is optimal. Some customers successfully keep them fresh for up to two weeks. They will last indoors for longer than 7-10 days but the chance of the tree surviving in the garden after being in heated rooms indoors for more than 10 days is reduced.
Q: Will my tree survive if I plant it outside after Christmas? A: With proper acclimatisation and care, many pot grown trees can be successfully transplanted. Success rates vary based on the length of time they are kept indoors, care and local conditions.
Q: Is the Norway Spruce suitable for people with allergies? A: Norway Spruces produce minimal pollen and have a mild fragrance, making them generally suitable for those with mild sensitivities.
Q: Can I keep my tree in the pot permanently? A: Yes, with repotting into larger containers as it grows, though eventual garden planting is preferable for the tree's long-term health.
Our pot grown Norway Spruces are cultivated with expertise and care, ensuring you receive a healthy, vibrant tree that will be the centrepiece of your Christmas celebrations. Each tree is inspected for quality, properly cared for during transport, and comes with comprehensive care guidance to help you make the most of your festive purchase.
Experience the joy of a traditional Christmas tree with the added satisfaction of making an environmentally conscious choice that can continue bringing pleasure long after the decorations are packed away.
