Perennials with pink flowers
Pink flowers are perfect for adding a touch of romance and femininity to your garden. Pink perennials are a great choice to provide low-maintenance colour and interest year after year in flower beds and mixed borders. Bright pinks really ‘pop’ in the border, catching the eye and drawing attention to a particular space, whilst pastel pinks, especially pinky-purples, can have a very soft, calming effect as well as giving a sense of luxury and elegance. Pink contrasts well with teal, greens and yellows, which are on the opposite side to pink on the colour wheel. Our favourite pink flowering perennials are Anemone 'Hadspen Abundance', a semi-evergreen clump-former producing beautiful, semi-double vivid pink blooms with reddish-pink outer petals; Aster novi-belgii 'Jenny' with bright pink, daisy-like flowers ideal for growing in containers to cheer up your patio; and Dahlia 'Engelhardt’s Matador' with its vibrant pink flowers set against deep purple foliage.
