Fast growing conifer plants
Shop our range of the best fast growing conifer plants, perfect for rapidly developing an effective hedge or screen, or simply to add shape, colour and texture to borders in a way that will make them feel well established and ‘permanent’ more quickly. These fast growing conifers will grow 30-90cm per year, depending on the variety and growing conditions. Contrary to popular belief, fast growing conifers are generally easy to grow and trouble free – they’ll need pruning twice a year, particularly once they reach the desired size to keep them in check, but can otherwise be left to their own devices. Conifers such as leylandii are popular for hedging and available in both green and gold varieties. Alternatively, Juniper Skyrocket is a tall and narrow conifer with evergreen, bluish-green foliage and a columnar growth habit, perfect for planting either side of a gate or entrance to add height and architectural flair. Some varieties in this section such as Juniper ‘Blue Chip’ and Cedrus ‘Feelin’ Blue’ are ground cover conifers that will grow rapidly on a horizontal plane whilst staying less than 50cm tall.
