Salad Leaf Seeds

Regularly sowing a mix of salad and lettuce seeds is a great way of providing a continuous fresh supply of your favourite leafy vegetables. Home grown salad leaves are much tastier than the artificially preserved bags of mixed salad you find in the supermarkets and can be grown on your doorstep for a fraction of the cost. Growing your own fresh green leaves is really easy and the leaves make excellent cut and come again crops. If you have limited space in the border or vegetable patch, salad leaves grow well in trays, growbags, containers and tubs – as long as the soil is well drained they will thrive. Keep salad leaves well watered, especially during hot, dry weather and harvest continuously when at the desired size. A “little but often” approach to harvesting works best. Choose Salad Leaf Herb Mix seeds for a delightful combination of complementary flavours comprising of a mix of rocket, Greek cress, mibuna, red and green leaf mustard, Florence fennel and coriander. Alternatively, Salad Leaf Mizuna Mix seeds produce peppery tasting leaves in assorted shapes and colours with a cut and come again habit.
