Onion Seeds
A good, fresh onion straight out of the ground should be enough to make you cry. We offer a wide range of delicious-tasing onion seeds for you to grow at home in your own vegetable patch. The wonderful, distinctive flavour of onions is well-loved the world over, whether in a healthy salad, as part of a hearty casserole, toad in the hole with red onions, as a delicious caramelised side or used to make onion gravy. The great news is they are easy to grow and will reliably yield a bumper crop with the right care. The most reliable option is to sow indoors in trays with some heat in January or February to give them the best start, before planting out in March/April. Onion seeds are a lot cheaper to buy than onion sets and some gardeners find there is more pleasure growing from an unadultered seed to final crop.
