Chilli Pepper Seeds

Chilli peppers are a must-have for any lover of hot foods with a good kick for dishes like curries and chilli con carne. Chilli pepper plants not only provide delicious chillies on tap for culinary use, they’re also beautiful, fun and interesting plants to grow with lush foliage and brightly coloured fruits. Coaxing baby chillies through the early stages of their development to produce bountiful crops is really special and as these plants are used to much warmer climates than our own, the whole process can be managed indoors in the conservatory or on the windowsill. Whether you’re looking for a chilli with a sting in its tail, a cooler, tangy chilly or something in between, we have varieties to suit your taste. Choose Chilli Pepper Basket of Fire as an edible ornamental, perfect for pots or baskets with upward-facing, easy to pick fruit. Chilli Orange Habanero seeds are one of the easiest habaneros to grow, ripening from green to orange and reaching 350,000 on the scale of Scoville heat units! Alternatively, Chilli Pepper Padron is a versatile chilli for stir fries and great for a game of chilli roulette with 2 in every 10 fruits being HOT. Sow chillies individually in module trays and keep moist in the warmth at 18-25 degrees Celsius. Transplant into 5cm (3in) pots when large enough to handle and grow on in a minimum temperature of 15 degrees. When the flowers start to open, plant into 30cm pots, grow bags or the greenhouse border, water regularly and feed weekly with a liquid fertiliser as fruits start to well.
