Shrubs with blue leaves

Shrubs with blue leaves are perfect for adding contrast and variation to the predominantly green foliage display in most gardens. When combining different foliage plants, consider the shape and size of the leaves, texture, style and, of course, colour. While eucalyptus gunnii plants are the most common and popular blue foliaged shrubs, there are others to choose from such as Brachyglottis with bluey-grey hues to its leaves and a slightly smaller growing version of eucalyptus called Eucalyptus pulverulenta 'Baby Blue'. Our top tip is to grow red foliage plants in groups for more impact and best contrasting effect in the border.
