Polyantha roses

Polyantha roses are compact, dwarf roses reaching 60-90cm (2-3 feet) tall with densely packed bunches of rambler-like, double or semi-double flowers produced repeatedly throughout the summer in colours spanning pinks, reds, whites, cream and shades of peach. As one of the parents of floribunda rose bushes, they are sturdy plants dating back to 1875 when they were created by crossing wild roses. They're well suited to the front of sunny borders, small containers, in the front of garden beds or to line walkways. Enjoying a resurgence in popularity over recent years, they are tough, easy to grow and disease resistant. Hard prune polyantha roses each spring to prevent them from becoming leggy and refresh the compost/re-pot containerised specimens every 4-5 years to reinvigorate their growth and keep them healthy.
