Sprouting Seeds

Sprouting seeds are delicious in sandwiches, stir fries, as part of salads, blended into soups, made into vegetarian sprouted bean burgers or as an accompaniment to various other meals. These super foods are highly nutritious, extremely rich in vitamins A, B, C and E, minerals, protein, fibre and enzymes. Sprouts can be grown successfully on any warm, light windowsill which is not in full sun all day. Place two layers of absorbent growing medium, like kitchen roll, into a shallow dish or tray. These should be thoroughly wet, but drained of excess water. Sow the seed fairly thickly over the wet growing medium. Place the dish in a warm, light airy position. Maintain a temperature of around 15 degrees Celsius. Keep the sowing moist but not saturated. This will ensure rapid germination. Depending on the exact growing conditions, the young seedlings should be ready for harvesting with a pair of scissors five to ten days after sowing. Choose Sprouting Seeds Mung Bean for quick to crop, crisp and juicy beansprouts perfect for using fresh in salads or added to stir fries. Alternatively, Sprouting Seeds Red Cabbage is an easy to grow cress with subtle and crisp texture, making a wonderful colourful addition to any salad, while Sprouting Rocket Seeds and delicious for adding space to salads, stir-fries and sandwiches.
