Radish Seeds

Radishes are a really easy and quick crop to grow from seed to your favourite kitchen dishes. Perfect for the beginner gardener, these crunchy root vegetables are delicious eaten fresh and in salads. For many of us, radishes or cress are our first introduction to vegetable gardening. They’re also perfect for growing with children given their fast growth and use for eating raw as a snack or at the dinner table. Sow small batches every few weeks for harvesting throughout summer, to add a crunchy tang to your salads. Radishes are effective for growing as row markets for slow-germinating crops, such as parsnip and onions – the radishes germinate quickly, marking out the row where the other crops have been sown, and are harvested before they can hinder the main crop. There are also varieties suitable for winter cropping. Choose Radish Annabel seeds for globular rich red radishes with bright white flesh, perfect for sowing wherever there is a little extra space; or Radish French Breakfast for a peppery crunch, best picked when the roots are still small and young. Alternatively, Radish French Patricia has medium-long bright red roots with white tips, a sweet mild taste and are ready to harvest within 25 days. Perhaps our favourite variety is Radish Sparkler that makes an attractive garnish and is perfect for summer salads.
