Climbing plants with orange flowers
Orange is the perfect colour to bring a sense of warmth and sunlight into your planting schemes, without quite the same intensity as bright yellows. Several varieties of honeysuckle produce beautiful orange blooms. Their large, highly decorative, cartwheel-shaped flower heads consist of fabulous, individual tubular blooms each exuding a sweet fragrance. Honeysuckle is a classic, twining cottage garden climber for informal style gardens with it’s nectar-rich flowers having the added benefit of encouraging bees, butterflies and hoverflies into your garden. For a slightly deeper and redder orange, Campsis radicans and Campsis Madame Galen make great choices. Campsis is a strong-growing, deciduous climber producing masses of delightful, trumpet-shaped, orange-red blooms at the end of branches all summer long. Their pendulous clusters have a rather tropical appearance, produce above long, coarsely toothed, glossy green leaves with distinctive veining.
