Sowing Indoors
Sow seeds individually into module trays 1cm (1/2in) deep and cover with a thin layer of compost. Place in warmth 10-15 degrees Celsuis (50-60 Fahrenheit) and keep moist. Keep seedlings in a bright position but shade from direct sunlight.
Planting Out
Plant out when plants are about 15cm (6in) tall. Gradually accustom them to conditions outside before planting into their final cropping positions 15cm (6in) apart, leaving 45cm (18in) between rows. Make holes in the soil with a dibber to avoid damaging the growing tips.
Sowing Outdoors
Sow seeds thinly in pre-watered soil in rows 45cm (18in) apart. Lightly cover the seeds with soil. Keep seedbed moist at all times. Thin to 15cm (6in) apart.
