Proudly holds the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit (AGM), confirming its outstanding garden performance and exceptional reliability. This prestigious recognition validates All Gold as one of the finest golden raspberry varieties available, tested and proven across diverse British growing conditions.
Produces bright yellow fruit that creates stunning visual contrast in the garden, transforming ordinary berry patches into radiant displays of golden abundance. The warm yellow berries brighten the garden landscape whilst providing an exotic appearance that's rarely seen in British gardens.
Features wonderfully sweet flavour with strong aroma that distinguishes All Gold from traditional red varieties. Offers a distinct, sweeter taste compared to other varieties like Autumn Bliss, creating an exceptional eating experience that showcases the unique characteristics of golden raspberries.
As a primocane variety, it can produce fruit on canes which have grown in the current season, enabling two crops in one year - though the majority will be ready for late-season harvest. This dual-cropping potential maximises garden productivity whilst extending the harvest season.
The majority of fruit will be ready to harvest late in the season, providing valuable fresh raspberries when most other varieties have finished. This late-season productivity ensures premium fruit availability during autumn when fresh berries are particularly appreciated.
Superior, sweeter taste compared to other varieties makes All Gold particularly appealing for fresh eating and dessert applications. The enhanced sweetness combined with aromatic intensity creates a premium fruit experience that rivals the finest gourmet varieties.
The canes are vigorous and adapt well to many soil types, ensuring reliable establishment and productive growth across diverse garden conditions. This adaptability makes All Gold suitable for various British growing situations whilst maintaining excellent performance.
Features strong aroma that enhances both the growing and eating experience, with the fragrant berries providing sensory appeal that extends beyond just taste. This aromatic quality makes All Gold particularly suitable for culinary applications where fragrance is valued.
Excellent for fresh eating with the conical, non-crumbling, extremely sweet golden berries providing perfect texture and flavour for immediate consumption straight from the cane. The firm texture ensures berries maintain their shape and quality during harvesting.
Great for fresh eating, preserves and freezing, with the distinctive golden colour and superior sweetness creating exceptional results in jams, jellies, and baked goods. The unique appearance makes these berries particularly valuable for decorative culinary applications.
Find a sunny spot and prepare a bed by clearing it of weeds and digging in lots of composted manure. Select a sunny site with afternoon shade and plant in rich, slightly acidic, well-drained soil that has been generously supplemented with compost and well rotted manure.
The canes will need to be tied onto a sturdy support, with recommendations for hammering in two robust tree stakes about 3m apart and stringing between them to create an effective support system for optimal productivity.
Self-fertile characteristics ensure productive harvests from single plantings, making All Gold perfect for smaller gardens where space limitations prevent multiple variety plantings. This convenience factor enhances the appeal for gardeners seeking maximum productivity from minimal space.
The vigorous, adaptable nature makes All Gold perfect for organic growing methods, with natural resilience reducing the need for chemical interventions whilst maintaining excellent productivity and fruit quality throughout the growing season.
Represents the finest achievements in golden raspberry breeding, combining traditional raspberry growing reliability with innovative fruit characteristics that deliver both visual impact and superior flavour for discerning gardeners seeking unique garden experiences.
Success with Raspberry All Gold centres on thorough soil preparation with generous organic matter incorporation, selecting a sunny position with afternoon shade protection, and installing adequate support structures before planting. Plant in either late fall or early spring with spacing of 2-3 feet between plants and 8-10 feet between rows, ensuring consistent moisture throughout the growing season and applying annual mulching with well-rotted manure or compost. For primocane management, decide whether to pursue single autumn crops by cutting all canes to ground level in late winter, or attempt dual cropping by selectively pruning to allow some canes to overwinter for early summer fruit followed by autumn harvest on new growth. Take advantage of the natural vigour and adaptability by maintaining good garden hygiene, ensuring adequate support for heavy crop loads, and harvesting the aromatic golden berries when fully coloured for optimal sweetness and flavour intensity. Your All Gold will demonstrate that award-winning golden raspberries deliver exceptional garden performance, combining stunning visual beauty with superior eating quality that transforms ordinary fruit gardens into extraordinary golden harvest celebrations for gardeners who appreciate both innovation and excellence in their edible landscapes.
Buying Fruit Trees/Bushes from Jacksons Nurseries
Our trees might be Freshly Potted and the root system may not be fully established, and loose soil may occur when unpacking.
Unlike many garden centres, supermarkets and some nurseries here at Jacksons Nurseries we sell the majority of our stock all year round. Our stock is for the most part grown outdoors making it far hardier than those grown under glass and/or only sold ‘In Season’.
Here at Jacksons Nurseries we would favour a hardy outdoor grown plant every time. They are far less likely to suffer from the shock of being planted in colder conditions and they will begin to establish more rapidly the following spring. This can mean that they don’t look like a ‘picture perfect’ plant when purchased out of season but with the correct care and a little time you’ll have a wonderful plant to enjoy for many years to come.
