Did You Know?

We grow and keep the majority of our plants outside on the edge of the Staffordshire Moorlands, over 650 feet above sea level ensuring a hardy plant that starts off well when planted in your garden.

Some leaves on evergreen plants can be damaged in winter but in spring, new leaves will readily replace those damaged. This is quite normal on many evergreen varieties and is preferable to plants grown with excessive protection that show cold shock once planted out and establish less satisfactorily initially.

Many perennials go ‘dormant’ which, in some cases, means that there is little or no top growth apparent between November and March. If you order perennials whilst they are dormant, they may not be visible above the soil level when purchased but will burst into life in spring.

Rosa 'Iceberg' (potted, standard rose)

Sweetly-scented sprays of flat, fully double, glowing white flowers emerge from shapely, pink-tinged buds between July and October. This is the most popular white floribunda of our time with a vigorous, branching growth habit and masses of finely-toothed, ovate, glossy mid-green deciduous leaves.

Perfect for using as a tall, specimen bush, its also suitable for growing in the middle of a flower garden and makes a very effective, intruder-proof hedge.

The flowers maintain their colour exceptionally well and don’t turn brown in the heat unlike other white roses. Planting in plenty of space and pruning in late winter helps encourage a plentiful display of blooms and reduces the chance of disease being a problem. We’d also recommend dead heading fading blooms immediately to encourage it to produce a second flush of flowers.

We sell the Standard (purchased on this page), floribunda and the climbing form of this rose.

Dependent on the time of year you buy our roses, the compost may break away when removing from the pot because they are field grown and potted in autumn.
