Adam's Needle
Yucca gloriosa Variegata
An exotic, architectural grass with striking, blue-green, strap-like leaves edged with broad yellow stripes that blush red in the winter. The stiff, spiky evergreen foliage forms massive tufts that are perfect for providing year round colour to a border or using as a focal point in the garden. Spectacular, imposing flower spikes are produced throughout the summer, giving host to white, bell-shaped blooms and helping to add accent to the garden. It forms a large, evergreen rosette of leathery, sword-shaped leaves decorated with long curly threads or "filaments" that peel back as the leaf grows, eventually dropping off on older leaves. Requiring no pruning and little maintenance, it’s perfect for growing in a container on the patio or incorporating into a rock garden setting.
