Common Lilac
Syringa vulgaris Charles Joly
This is a stunning variety that’s highly valued for its extremely fragrant, double magenta blooms which are produced in dense clusters from late spring to early summer. These are produced above a backdrop of erect stems and pointed, dark green leaves which form a compact, dome-shape that’s perfect for the back of a sunny, well-drained border. ‘Charles Joly’ is a strong-growing shrub that’s perfect for adding colour and interest to the garden in early summer.
