Miss Kim Lilac
Syringa patula Miss Kim
This is a small, deciduous shrub which is attractive to hummingbirds and butterflies and makes an excellent informal, flowering hedge. It bears an abundance of showy, fragrant flowers in May, which are particularly useful for flower arrangements. These are dark lavender-pink when in bud, fading to soft lavender-pink when fully opened. In autumn the foliage takes on brilliant shades of reddish-purple, making it ideal for shrub borders, foundation plantings or rock gardens. Miss Kim is a popular shrub which many people consider to be the best lilac available. It has a compact, upright, rounded form and can be massed, grouped or planted as a specimen in a small garden.
