Japanese Bamboo
Sasa tsuboiana
This is an attractive, plain-green, spreading bamboo with large, narrow, elongated leaves that come to a fine tip. It forms a lovely, solid mass of foliage that’s suitable for using as groundcover or incorporating into a Japanese-styled garden. Perfect for using as a low hedge, it displays slight bleaching in winter and does best in areas that get some afternoon shade.
