Climbing Rose
Rosa Golden Showers

Stunning, large, fully double golden-yellow blooms which appear abundantly in loose clusters from July until the first frost. This is by far the most popular yellow climbing rose with a vigorous, arching habit and long, almost thorn less stems which become clothed with finely-toothed, glossy dark green leaves. Perfect for covering a sunny wall or growing around a pillar, it is rain-resistant and makes a great choice for the smaller garden. It has a strong disease resistance with beautiful, rain resistant, sweetly-scented flowers that fade from yellow to creamy-white with age. Although it’s generally very easy to care for, it may need to be sprayed for black spot once or twice a year if you intend to grow it in a hot and humid site

Position: Full sun

Soil: A moist, yet well-drained, fertile and humus-rich soil

Rate of Growth: Average to fast

Flowering Period: June to October

Flower Colour: Bright golden-yellow

Other Features: It was hugely popular when it was first introduced in 1956 and remains by far the most popular yellow climbing rose available today

Hardiness: Fully hardy

Garden Care: Before planting, top-growth should be reduced to an outward facing bud approximately 15-20cm from the main stem. It should be planted during a frost-free period and lots of well-rotted, organic matter should be incorporated into the planting hole. We’d recommend feeding with a balanced liquid fertiliser once a year in spring
