Climbing Rose
Rosa Golden Showers

Stunning, large, fully double golden-yellow blooms which appear abundantly in loose clusters from July until the first frost. This is by far the most popular yellow climbing rose with a vigorous, arching habit and long, almost thorn less stems which become clothed with finely-toothed, glossy dark green leaves. Perfect for covering a sunny wall or growing around a pillar, it is rain-resistant and makes a great choice for the smaller garden. It has a strong disease resistance with beautiful, rain resistant, sweetly-scented flowers that fade from yellow to creamy-white with age. Although it’s generally very easy to care for, it may need to be sprayed for black spot once or twice a year if you intend to grow it in a hot and humid site

Position: Prefers Full sun

Soil: A moist, yet well-drained, fertile and humus-rich soil

Rate of Growth: Average to fast

Flowering Period: June to October

Flower Colour: Bright golden-yellow

Other Features: It was hugely popular when it was first introduced in 1956 and remains by far the most popular yellow climbing rose available today

Hardiness: Fully hardy: stands a temperature down to -15°C

Garden Care: Dependent on the time of year you buy our roses, the compost may break away when removing from the pot because they are field grown and potted in autumn. Prior to planting trim the roots to 25cm and the stems to 15 to 20cm taking care to cut diagonally away from and above an outer facing bud. Mix compost in with the back fill and a potash based fertilizer.
