English Shrub Rose
Rosa Gertrude Jekyll
Large, fully double, cup-shaped, glowing deep pink blooms emerge from fat, eye-catching buds between July and September, releasing an outstanding, old fashioned damask fragrance as they open. This is a popular, repeat-flowering English shrub rose with a vigorous, healthy growth habit and grayish, mid-green leaves. Perfect for the back of a mixed border where a rich soil and full sun exposure is available; its large, long-lasting blooms also make it a good choice for cutting. Sometimes referred to as the Ausbord rose, it should be pruned lightly in late summer once all flowering has finished
