Rambling Rose
Rosa Albertine
This is a popular, vigorous rambling rose producing a lavish display of large, loosely double, soft coppery-pink blooms from mid- to late summer. These have a lively, rounded shape and release a lovely sweet perfume as they emerge from attractive, pointed coppery buds. Widely considered to be one of the best climbing roses available, it has arching, thorny, reddish-green stems that are clothed with finely-toothed, ovate, glossy dark green leaves. It has a vigorous, branching growth habit and will stretch over walls, old trees, pergolas or arches before bursting into bloom in June.

Garden Care:
Dependent on the time of year you buy our roses, the compost may break away when removing from the pot because they are field grown and potted in autumn. Prior to planting trim the roots to 25cm and the stems to 15 to 20cm taking care to cut diagonally away from and above an outer facing bud. Mix compost in with the back fill and a potash based fertilizer. Do not prune in the first 12 months after planting – merely remove any dead tips that may be present. Once the plant has become established, prune in late summer or autumn once flowering has finished. Any dead and exhausted wood should be cut out and the side shoots should be reduced by about two-thirds
