Yakushimanum Rhododendron
Rhododendron Surrey Heath
An eye catching rhododendron producing bright red buds opening to pretty rose-pink flowers fading to cream giving an attractive two-tone effect. A distinctive plant that flowers in spring. It has long narrow-pointed leaves and is very compact. Easy to grow variety that can be displayed in containers and ideal for the smaller garden as mature height is approximately 1 meter high.

Garden Care:
Be careful not to plant too deep and incorporate lots of peat in the planting hole. Apply a generous woodchip mulch in summer to help the plant retain moisture and to protect the root from overheating. During the first growing season, water regularly in periods of dry weather to establish a deep, extensive root system and feed with an acid fertiliser after the plant has flowered. Routine pruning is not required.
