Dwarf Rhododendron
Rhododendron Scarlet Wonder
This is a dwarf, evergreen variety which is low growing and exceptionally compact. It has tiny, quilted, dark green leaves which have a slight sheen and bears wavy-edged, cardinal red flowers in April and May. The flowers are produced in loose clusters with faint brown markings on the petals. Its compact growth habit gives it an outstanding, formal appearance which is ideal for small city gardens, courtyards and side yards, where space is a premium. It is also small enough to be used in the rock garden and can be planted in small groupings in front of taller shrubs or under the canopies of trees.
