Yakushimanum Rhododendron
Rhododendron Percy Wiseman
This is a compact, evergreen, slow growing Rhodo with funnel-shaped, peachy cream flowers which appear between late May and early June. These are bright pink when they first appear, erupting from crimson-red buds and becoming lighter as they open. They are produced in dense, compact trusses and have a yellow throat with distinctive, dull orange spots on the upper segment. The glossy, dark green, lance-shaped foliage forms a dense mound. The flowers are tremendous, large and beautifully coloured. It is ideal for filling small gaps in a mixed shrub border and makes a lovely, small specimen plant.
