Hybrid Rhododendron
Rhododendron Bernstein
This is a hardy, evergreen hybrid with shell pink buds which erupt to reveal large, light peachy-yellow flowers in May and June. The flowers have slightly ruffled petals with an amber upper lobe, giving them an intense, striking look. They are produced in clusters of 3 to 5 blooms above mid- to light green, broadly lance-shaped foliage. As with all rhododendrons, Bernstein typically has a shallow root system so it’s important to keep it well watered during periods of dry weather to allow it to establish an extensive root system during the first growing season.
