Red Firethorn
Pyracantha Red Column
This is an extremely tough and hardy, evergreen shrub that can tolerate a wide range of demanding conditions, including shaded and exposed positions. It has a compact growth habit and forms dense, thorny, mid-green foliage. In August it produces masses of profuse, bright red berries which last through autumn and well into the winter. It makes an attractive freestanding shrub but can also be used to provide intruder-proof hedging or for training up a wall.
