Zabeliana Cherry laurel
Prunus Zabeliana
This is a low-growing, evergreen shrub which bears erect panicles of small, white flowers between April and May. These are produced above narrow, willow-like, glossy dark green leaves. It has a low, spreading growth habit and a horizontally branched form, making it ideal for use as a ground cover plant. The flowers are followed by small, rounded black fruits which help to provided colour and interest well into the summer. It can be grown in any position, including dense shade, in any reasonably moist, humus rich soil.
