Drumstick Primula
Primula denticulata Mixed

This is a fantastic primula with large round flower heads made up of neat florets in shades of white, blue, rich carmine and lilac. Ideal for bog gardens and borders, it is beautiful and distinct and makes a great choice for combining with spring-flowering pot plants or using in cooler spots of the rock garden. Awarded the prestigious RHS Award of Garden Merit for its stunning blooms, it flowers for up to 10 weeks, the later flowers coinciding with the neat, mini shuttlecock-shaped rosettes of foliage.

Position: Tolerates Full Shade

Soil: Any reasonably fertile, moisture retentive soil is suitable

Rate of Growth: Fast

Flowering Period: April to June

Flower Colour: Mixed - white, blue, rich carmine and lilac

Other Features: A beautiful and distinct primula which won the prestigious RHS Award of Garden Merit

Hardiness: Fully hardy: stands a temperature down to -15°C

Garden Care: Incorporate lots of well-rotted organic matter into the backfill when planting. Apply generous well rotted organic mulch in early spring and keep well-watered during periods of dry weather.

Please Note: Many perennials go ‘dormant’ which, in some cases, means that there is little or no top growth apparent between November and March. If you order perennials whilst they are dormant, they may not be visible above the soil level when purchased but will burst into life in spring. In the dormant period, we may not have stocks of all varieties in all pot sizes and therefore reserve the right to supply 9cm pots instead of 1 or 2 litre plants and adjust the price down accordingly

Eventual Height:  30cm
Eventual Spread:  25cm

Approx Pot Size Approx Height Price

9cm pot £2.80
