Bamboo
Pleioblastus shibuyanus Tsuboii
A versatile, semi-dwarf, ornamental bamboo with fresh, pale green leaves that are attractively striped creamy-white. It has a compact, upright growth habit with varying degrees of variegation on each leaf, giving it an unusual, tropical appearance. A beautiful plant for a low hedge or screen, it has a very sculptural appearance which can be enhanced with pruning. Although vigorous in growth, it can easily be trained to stay in a tight clump, making it suitable for growing in a container on the patio. If it’s being used as a groundcover plant thinning or mowing down to the ground every other year will keep it looking fresh.
