Reed Canary Grass
Phalaris arundinacea picta
A versatile, variegated, bamboo-like ornamental grass with upright stems and broad, dark green leaves attractive striped creamy-yellow. It is a tall deciduous variety with a vigorous, clump-forming growth habit and fragile, pinkish-white flower-heads which are produced in long panicles during the summer. As the foliage turns light brown in early autumn and it starts to wither back during the winter, we’d recommend cutting it down to the ground in late December to encourage a fresh production of foliage the following year
