Mentha x piperita
Peppermint
A popular herb with reddish green stems, light heavily scented, toothed oval shaped leaves and light purple lavender flowers. Studies have shown the wide ranging benefits of peppermint from the enhancement of memory and reduction of Irritable Bowel Syndrome when taken as an infusion to help with insomnia when crushed and rubbed over the skin.
