Pear
Pear Conference
Delicious, long, yellowish-green fruits with attractive, silvery russeting and a deliciously sweet, rich flavour that’s perfect for using in desserts. This is a reliable and robust, heavy cropping variety with firm, juicy flesh that has an almost buttery taste. Perfect for eating in November, it has a broadly columnar growth habit and makes a good pollinator for other varieties. Although it’s partially self-fertile, we’d recommend growing it alongside another pear such as Confernence, Concorde or Beurre Hardy to guarantee a plentiful crop of fruit. A great choice for an open, sunny site, it becomes smothered in a fabulous display of highly ornamental, white blossom in April.
