Regal Fern
Osmunda Regalis
This is an upright, clump-forming fern with erect stems of fresh green, lacy-textured, lance-shaped foliage that tapers towards the tip. It’s a deciduous variety with hairy, reddish-brown young fronds (leaves) that gradually unfurl and turn bright green as they mature. Perfect for growing as a marginal plant around a pond or stream, it’s also suitable for growing in full sun providing it receives plenty of water. In the autumn the leaves take on vibrant shades of golden-yellow before fading to brown. We don’t recommend cutting these leaves down until the end of winter. A stunning variety that needs plenty of room to develop.
