Silver Maiden Grass
Miscanthus sinensis Morning Light
A beautiful, clump-forming, ornamental grass with an upright, silvery appearance and slender, variegated leaves that spread upwards and outwards like a fountain. The gracefully arching, fine-textured, bright green foliage is edged with a narrow band of clear white and helps to make the landscape come alive as it blow in the wind. It produces showy, tassel-like, pale pink plumes in August which last throughout the autumn and well into the winter. Perfect for incorporating into a mixed border or using as a stand-alone specimen plant, it takes on brilliant shades of bronze in September which is maintained throughout autumn and winter. It can be lifted and divided every 3-4 years to encourage a more upright growth habit and we’d recommend cutting it back to the ground in late December to encourage a fresh production of stems the following year.
