Crab Apple
Malus x zumi Golden Hornet
This is a well-known crab apple which produces an abundance of small, yellow fruits in autumn. It has a neat, tapering growth habit and is often planted for its lavish display of white flowers in summer. These are a prolific source of pollen for fertilizing other trees and make it one of the best of all crab apples. In autumn the branches bend under the weight of the fruit, which can be used for culinary purposes or may be left on to last all autumn and part of the winter too.
