Japanese Honeysuckle
Lonicera japonica Halliana
An ornamental, evergreen climber producing masses of tubular, white spring flowers which gradually mature to creamy-yellow during the summer. These provide a wonderful fragrance to the garden and should be grown near a window, entrance or path so it can be fully appreciated. It has a cottage-garden feel with elongated, dark green leaves that provide a perfect backdrop for the flowering display. Ideal for quick coverage of walls, fences and large, unsightly objects, it’s also suitable for using as ground cover and growing through trees where it will help attract wildlife to the garden. A fantastic, vigorous Japanese honeysuckle whose twining stems should be cut back after flowering to maintain a neat shape.
