Mallow
Lavatera elementii Barnsley
An excellent long-flowering, semi-evergreen shrub bearing masses of red-centred, white, hollyhock-like blooms which age to pink. These are up to 7cm across and are produced above textured, grey-green leaves between June and September. It’s important to prune back the previous year’s flowering stems to the main framework of the shrub in spring to prevent it from becoming straggly.
