Gay Mallow
Lavatera Burgundy Wine
This is a large, deciduous shrub with crinkled, grey-green leaves and large, vibrant pink blooms. It’s an extremely long-flowering variety that’s ideal for adding continuous colour and impact to the garden throughout the summer and autumn. As it’s smaller than most other varieties of Lavetera, ‘Burgundy Wine’ is perfect for the front of a sunny, sheltered border. It’s reasonably drought tolerant but does require some protection from cold, drying winds. A useful plant for attracting wildlife including bees, butterflies and hummingbirds to the garden.
