Blue Hair Grass
Koeleria glauca
A non-invasive, tuft-forming, evergreen grass with lovely, blue-green foliage whose colouration is most pronounced early in the season. It bears dense heads of decorative, silvery-green flowers that look great in dried flower arrangements and fade to straw-yellow as they age. Perfect for the gravel garden or growing alongside a border or path, it provides an attractive contrast to brighter flowers in sunny border. It will also tolerate the exposed condition of a rock garden and looks brilliant when combined with other grasses in a container. A fantastic, ornamental grass with a compact growth habit that grows best in poor to moderately fertile soils.
