Flaky Juniper
Juniperus squamata Blue Star
This is a lovely, dwarf evergreen conifer with a compact, rounded growth habit. Handsome, rich blue needles with a white stripe are crowded along its branches all year round, making it a good choice for the rockery and heather garden. It’s intolerant of hot and humid conditions so should be mulched with pine needles or bark in spring to keep the roots cool during the summer months.
