Iris Sibirica
Iris sibirica Blue Moon
Beautiful, bright violet-blue blooms with contrasting deep purple centres are produced on remarkably strong, tall, arched flowering stems from June to July. This is a magnificent, highly prized Siberian iris which forms a dense clump of graceful, long, strap-like leaves that stay looking attractive all year round. When the flowers fade they are followed by ornamental seed pods which help to add interest to the garden throughout autumn and winter. It makes a great perennial for a dry, shaded position, producing excellent cut flowers whose long stems make them perfect for keeping in a vase
Position:
Prefers partial shade

Any reasonably well-drained soil is suitable

June to July
Flower Colour:
Violet-blue
Other Features:
Its narrow, upright growth habit makes it a great choice for filling in small gaps in the perennial border

Garden Care:
Plant so that the middle of the rhizome (bulb) is in line with the top of the soil level, leaving the top of the rhizome above ground level. Feed with a nitrogen-rich fertilizer during the growing season. To encourage an abundant production of blooms, divide congested clumps every few years in late summer. It may require staking in windy, exposed conditions. Please Note: Many perennials go ‘dormant’ which, in some cases, means that there is little or no top growth apparent between November and March. If you order perennials whilst they are dormant, they may not be visible above the soil level when purchased but will burst into life in spring. In the dormant period, we may not have stocks of all varieties in all pot sizes and therefore reserve the right to supply 9cm pots instead of 1 or 2 litre plants and adjust the price down accordingly.
Eventual Height: 90cm
Eventual Spread:
30cm
