Variegated Female Holly
Ilex aquifolium 'Handsworth New Silver'
A bushy dense evergreen purple stemmed shrub with mid-green, spiny leaves with creamy margins with purple young shoots. Excellent as a hedge or specimen shrub. Small white flowers in summer followed by bright red berries in autumn, great for wildlife! A male variety of holly is needed to help produce the berries a suitable variety is ‘Ilex Blue Princes’.
