Variegated Male Holly
Ilex aquifolium Silver Queen
Silver Queen is actually a male variety of holly. Mainly grown for its striking variegated foliage as, unlike female varieties, it doesn't produce berries. Foliage growth is dense, upright and quite slow-growing. Strong shrub, ideal for hedges and screens, both inland and by the sea, ideal specimen shrub. RHS award winning variety.
