Holly
Ilex Alaska Lollipop
This is a strong-growing, compact, female evergreen holly with very spiny, narrow, glossy dark green leaves that have attractive, undulating edges. It displays small white flowers in early summer followed by an abundance of decorative, vivid red berries that are produced even when the plant is young. The berries contrast beautifully against the backdrop of dark foliage and persist right through from autumn until early spring. It has a narrow, upright form which can be pruned to any desired shape and size after flowering. Suitable for urban areas, it’s great for adding architectural flare to a patio area or using as a dense, ornamental hedge that will look fabulous in the winter.
