Hybrid Witch Hazel
Hamamelis intermedia Diane
An excellent, deciduous shrub bearing dark, ruby-red flowers with long, ribbon-like petals and a sweet fragrance. These are produced on bare branches throughout the winter, making them perfect for adding a splash of colour to the winter garden. ‘Diane’ is a rare variety that’s ideal for growing as a specimen plant in a large, open space. It boasts excellent autumn colour that could match any Japanese maple: its large, hazel-like leaves becoming a cloak of orange and purple in the autumn. It’s perfect for growing alongside dogwoods as their bright bark compliments the flower colour of the hamamelis.
