Boris Avens
Geum coccineum Borisii
Masses of single, long-lasting, vivid orange blooms with attractive, yellow stamens are produced in clusters on long, upright stems throughout the summer. This is a jolly, clump-forming perennial which forms a neat rosette of hairy, kidney-shaped, fresh green leaves. Perfect for growing in groups at the front of a mixed or herbaceous border, it produces excellent cut flowers and grows best in a humus-rich, sheltered, sunny site. Congested colonies can be lifted and divided every few years to maintain flower vigour if required

Incorporate lots of well-rotted organic matter into the backfill when planting. Apply generous well rotted organic mulch in early spring and keep well-watered during periods of dry weather. Please Note: Many perennials go ‘dormant’ which, in some cases, means that there is little or no top growth apparent between November and March. If you order perennials whilst they are dormant, they may not be visible above the soil level when purchased but will burst into life in spring. In the dormant period, we may not have stocks of all varieties in all pot sizes and therefore reserve the right to supply 9cm pots instead of 1 or 2 litre plants and adjust the price down accordingly
