Crested Gentian
Gentiana septemfida
This is a charming, compact perennial producing a fantastic, abundant display of vibrant, rich blue, trumpet-shaped flowers which are speckled purple-black up the middle of the petals and have a stunning, creamy-white centre. These have a distinctive fringing and emerge from interesting, wound buds in terminal clusters from June to July. It has charming, spear-shaped, mid-green leaves and maintains a neat, compact appearance even whilst flowering. Perfect for the rockery or woodland garden, it looks stunning at the front of borders or raised beds and is easier to grow, less fussy and less likely to sprawl than other Gentiana varieties

Please Note: Many perennials go ‘dormant’ which, in some cases, means that there is little or no top growth apparent between November and March. If you order perennials whilst they are dormant, they may not be visible above the soil level when purchased but will burst into life in spring. In the dormant period, we may not have stocks of all varieties in all pot sizes and therefore reserve the right to supply 9cm pots instead of 1 or 2 litre plants and adjust the price down accordingly.
