Fuchsia
Fuchsia Riccartonii
An impressive, long-flowering variety that’s ideal for adding a splash of colour to borders, pots or hanging baskets. Single, scarlet and purple, drooping flowers are produced in abundance throughout the summer and well into the autumn. These are borne on red stems above an upright and bushy mass of attractive, mid-green foliage. ‘Riccartonii’ is a popular, robust variety that’s also suitable for using as an informal, flowering hedge. Although it’s sometimes considered fully hardy, it’s advisable to provide some protection from cold, drying winds. Any damage caused by winter frosts is quickly revived in the spring.
